Disclosures & Disclaimers

FTC Affiliate Disclosure

Silver's The New Gold (“we,” “us,” or the “Site”) participates in affiliate, referral, and partnership programs with brokerages, IRA custodians, bullion dealers, vaulting providers, and publishers in the precious-metals and personal-finance space.

When you click a link on this Site marked as a partner, sponsor, or affiliate link and subsequently open an account, fund a wallet, complete a purchase, request a kit, or submit your contact information, we may receive a commission, referral fee, or other compensation from the partner. This compensation may be a flat fee, a percentage of revenue, or a per-lead bounty.

You never pay more as a result of using our links. Compensation does not influence which partners we feature or how we describe them. We only feature partners we believe a reasonable investor would consider on their merits.

Examples of how we get paid:

  • Brokerages & ETF platforms: a one-time bounty (typically $25–$200) when a referred user opens and funds a new account, or a revenue share on trading commissions for a defined window (e.g. 12 months).
  • Silver / Gold IRA custodians: a per-lead fee for a completed information-request form, plus a larger bounty (often $200–$1,000+) if the lead funds a self-directed IRA. Some custodians pay a percentage of the first-year storage and admin fees.
  • Bullion dealers & vaulting providers: a percentage of the order subtotal (commonly 0.5–3%) on qualifying first purchases, or a flat fee per new vault account.
  • Books, courses, and publishers: a standard affiliate commission (e.g. Amazon Associates rates, typically 1–10% of the sale).
  • Newsletter sponsorships: some issues include a clearly labeled “Sponsored” section paid for as a flat placement fee, separate from any affiliate links.

We do not disclose the exact rate negotiated with each partner because those terms are confidential, but the structures above cover every revenue arrangement on the Site.

Historical Performance Disclaimer

Any historical price chart, return figure, ratio (e.g. gold-to-silver), backtest, calculator output, or “what if you had invested” scenario shown on this Site is illustrative and educational only. It is not a prediction, projection, recommendation, or guarantee of future results.

Specifically:

  • Past returns for silver, gold, mining equities, royalty companies, and ETFs do not indicate what those instruments will do next month, next year, or over any future period. Markets that rose can fall by the same amount or more.
  • Calculator results assume a single entry price, a single exit price, and zero costs. Real outcomes are reduced by dealer premiums, bid/ask spreads, storage and insurance fees, IRA custodian fees, transaction costs, and taxes.
  • Multi-year cumulative returns (e.g. “up X% over 10 years”) hide significant interim drawdowns. Silver has historically experienced peak-to-trough declines of 50% or more, and individual mining stocks have lost 80–100% of their value in past cycles.
  • Comparisons to other asset classes (S&P 500, bonds, real estate, crypto) are for context only and depend heavily on the start and end dates chosen. Different windows produce very different conclusions.
  • Inflation-adjusted (“real”) returns are not the same as nominal returns and are not always disclosed alongside headline figures elsewhere on the internet. Always check which one is being shown.

You should assume that any number on this Site could be wrong, stale, or computed on assumptions that do not match your situation. Verify against primary sources (your brokerage, the LBMA, the U.S. Mint, the Silver Institute, the IRS) before acting.

Not Investment, Tax, or Legal Advice

All content on this Site — including articles, guides, the AI Mentor, calculators, comparison tables, partner descriptions, and the newsletter — is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.

Nothing on this Site is, or should be construed as, individualized investment advice, a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or asset, an offer or solicitation to transact, tax advice, legal advice, or a fiduciary recommendation.

We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, FINRA-registered individual, CFP, CPA, or attorney. Before making any investment, retirement, or rollover decision, consult a qualified, properly licensed professional who knows your full financial situation.

Investment Risk

Precious metals — including silver and gold in physical, ETF, mining-equity, streaming, futures, and IRA forms — carry substantial risk, including the risk of total or partial loss of principal. Prices are volatile and influenced by macroeconomic conditions, currency markets, central-bank policy, industrial demand, mining supply, geopolitics, and investor sentiment.

Past performance is not indicative of future results. Any historical figures, charts, calculator outputs, or scenario projections shown on this Site are illustrative only and do not represent a forecast or guarantee of any kind. Bull-case, base-case, or analyst-target numbers are hypothetical.

Self-directed IRAs holding precious metals carry additional risks, including custody risk, storage risk, premium-to-spot risk, prohibited-transaction risk, and tax-treatment risk. The IRS treats physical precious metals as collectibles for non-IRA holders, with a maximum 28% federal tax rate on long-term gains.

No Live Price Feed

Unless explicitly labeled with a timestamp and source, any spot price, ratio, or market figure shown on the Site is illustrative and not a live quote. For live precious-metals prices, use a dedicated source such as Kitco, The Silver Institute, or your brokerage.

AI Mentor — Limitations & What It Will Not Do

The “AI Mentor” chat feature is powered by a third-party large language model (LLM). Its responses are generated automatically by predicting likely next words based on training data. It is not a person, not a fiduciary, not a licensed adviser, and not a substitute for professional advice.

Known limitations you must assume at all times:

  • Hallucinations. The Mentor can confidently state facts, statistics, dates, tax rules, product features, and partner details that are completely fabricated. Always verify any specific number, rule, or claim against a primary source before relying on it.
  • Stale knowledge. The underlying model has a training cutoff date and does not know about events, price moves, regulatory changes, or partner policy updates that happened after that cutoff. It also does not have live market data.
  • No memory of you. The Mentor does not know your age, income, tax bracket, jurisdiction, account types, existing holdings, debts, dependents, time horizon, or risk tolerance — even if you typed them earlier in the same chat.
  • No live data access. Unless explicitly stated in the response, the Mentor cannot check real-time spot prices, account balances, custodian fee schedules, IRS contribution limits for the current year, or any other live source.
  • Bias toward agreement. LLMs tend to validate the framing of the question. If you ask “is silver a good buy right now?” the answer is more likely to lean positive than if you ask “what could go wrong if I buy silver right now?” Ask both.

The Mentor will refuse to:

  • Predict future prices of silver, gold, any equity, ETF, or cryptocurrency, or give a target price or timing call.
  • Tell you how much of your portfolio to allocate to precious metals, or recommend a specific dollar amount to buy or sell.
  • Recommend a specific partner, custodian, dealer, or product as “the best” for you personally.
  • Provide tax advice, legal advice, or instructions on executing a rollover, in-kind transfer, or prohibited transaction.
  • Confirm the current spot price, your account balance, or any figure that requires real-time data it cannot access.

Treat every Mentor response as a starting point for your own research, not a conclusion. For any decision involving real money, confirm with a qualified, properly licensed professional.
